About the job:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual for a 6 months internship. This position is designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and operational excellence in the logistics sector.
As an intern, you will work closely with our Warehouse Managers to learn how to optimize internal operational flows, ensuring that goods are stored and moved with maximum efficiency. This is not just a manual role; it is a strategic learning path where you will act as a link between logistics management and floor operations, assisting in the planning of spaces and resources.
Learning Objectives & Key Responsibilities
During your internship, you will support the team in the following areas:
- Space Planning: You will learn to analyze and optimize warehouse layouts to maximize storage capacity and streamline picking operations.
- WCM Implementation: Contribute to the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) logic within logistics by collecting data for the Plan For Every Part (PFEP), material classification analysis, and the sizing of supermarkets and picking areas.
- Route Optimization: Assist in mapping Mizu tow tractor routes within the plant by creating spaghetti charts and monitoring cycle times to optimize paths and schedule material delivery appointments for the production line.
- Systems Testing: Participate in the production release and subsequent testing phases of new call-off applications (such as e-kanban and push-button systems).
- Inventory & Stock Control: Assist in monitoring stock levels, managing reorders, and conducting periodic audits (both physical and digital) to ensure data accuracy.
- Operational Coordination: Support the daily management of the warehouse team, learning how to assign tasks while maintaining high quality and timing standards.
- Information Flow Management: Gain hands-on experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and tracking technologies (Barcodes, RFID) to monitor performance KPIs.
- Safety and Compliance: Gain an in-depth understanding of the practical application of workplace safety regulations and the proper maintenance of warehouse equipment.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Education: Degree in Economics, Management Engineering or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: A foundational understanding of warehouse logic (FIFO, LIFO) and basic proficiency with logistics software and MS Office.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, a proactive “problem-solving” mindset, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Language: Fluency in Italian; professional English is a plus.
Reimbursement: €700 per month + free access to the company canteen
