STIGA presents the very first autonomous robot mower combining RTK GPS with a patented, predictive AGS technology for an unbreakable signal that prevents mowing stoppages and delivers cutting accuracy.
STIGA, the leading European manufacturer and distributor of garden machinery and equipment introduces STIGA autonomous robot mower, an innovative machine that revolutionises lawn care and paves the way for a fully autonomous generation of lawn mowers for private gardens. STIGA engineers have confronted the most important issues with robot mowers: GPS signal loss, inflexible boundary wires, blocked radio signals, the inefficiency of random mowing paths, lawn damage due to over-mowing, and owners feeling like they have no real control over their robot. While new technologies such as barrier recognition systems, lawn mapping, and lawn memory have emerged in the global robot mower market, these don’t go far enough. Our latest robot mower has been through a rigorous process of questioning everything we and other manufacturers have done before. This means challenging all that has become accepted as the ceiling of innovation and having the courage to imagine beyond the norm.
The first robot mower to bring predictive AGS to gardens
This brand new, autonomous robot lawnmower guarantees automatic and consistently smooth mowing, even on complex and demanding lawns. All zones in the lawn are mown regularly and accurately, leaving no zone uncut and avoiding over-mowing by passing several times in the same area. The result is an even, beautiful lawn. The autonomous robot by STIGA is the only machine to operate with a clever Active Guidance System, going beyond GPS and beyond RTK. AGS makes the STIGA autonomous robot much smarter than others. It learns and remembers where GPS signals reception is weak or broken and establishes where blind spots exist in the garden. So before it sets off, it can plan the day’s most effective mowing route by using the data to predict exactly where and when it can mow – without signal loss, stoppage or owner intervention. To overcome obstacles and for corrective data exchange to remain stable, STIGA autonomous robot is equipped with a 4G connection, which means it never loses contact with the reference station and always operates super accurately.
Naturally healthier lawns
Most robot mowers use random mowing routes that zig-zag around the lawn, making not only a wasteful use of valuable battery power, but also deteriorating lawn health as the same area of lawn is cut repeatedly without having time to recover between mows. Thanks to STIGA’s unique ePower, tested beyond industry standards for a longer battery lifespan and excellent energy-efficiency, all our robot mowers – including wire-guided models – can run for longer between charges, which means they can properly care for the lawn in as little as 2 mowing cycles a day, with little chance of over-mowing. This also means more time for the grass to recover and stay healthy between mows and more uninterrupted quality time for families to enjoy it. STIGA autonomous robot mowers further enhance this principle by introducing systematic cutting: with multiple mowing patterns and direction settings, our autonomous robot mowers can nurture healthier, lusher lawns.
A high-performing cutting device. Nurturing grass health.
Four to six pivoting carbon steel razor blades – depending on the model – spinning at up to 2850 rpm, ensure high cutting performance. The blades’ sharpness allows a neat cut that won’t tear the grass, letting it seal and heal naturally. Offering a quality cut, also when caring for grass species that are more difficult to cut – both when the robot blades are new or after a long period of use.
Virtual perimeter. Flexible borders.
We went beyond annoying boundary wires and replaced them with GPS-based virtual boundaries. There are no physical limits. There’s no physical set-up – no pegging or digging. Because the perimeter is virtual, it’s hassle-free to adjust when you change your garden layout, or you simply want to zone a space for a BBQ. Or if you need to adjust boundaries due to vegetation growth. As nature moves through its natural cycles, elements in the garden grow and shrink. The virtual borders can be easily adapted to all changes, following nature’s rhythm and respecting its movements. Caring for every element in the garden. Everything is done via the STIGA.GO app, making light work of everything from set-up to major changes.
Balanced, stable, quiet for everyone in the garden
Positioning of the battery in the middle of the robot’s body, combined with 2 front wheels, provide excellent stability on every terrain and on slopes up to 27° (50%). Improved tyre pattern on back wheels, for better grip on the ground and better slope management, without leaving traces on the lawn. The floating outer shell, made of shock-absorbing material mix, allows to keep noise inside the robot and makes it quieter than a home refrigerator (below 59 dB(A).
Beyond autonomy there Is control
While the STIGA autonomous robot is designed to operate more autonomously than any other robot mower, we’ve made sure that owners have control over his behaviour and status. Setup, scheduling, zoning, boundary adjustments, cutting patterns, cutting height adjustment, obstacle notification, stay-away zone setting, border clean ups, voice assistant integration. All at the user’s fingertips and made easy with the STIGA.GO app.
